Sometimes we want to change or reset the password because we are worried that someone got hold of our password or know our credential or our account has been hacked. Also, we change or reset our password to get stronger or more secure and easy to remember the password.
Whatever the reason may be, changing your Gmail passwords on an Android device or an iPhone is an easy process.
How to Change Gmail Password on Android Device
Follow the steps below to change your Gmail password on an Android smartphone or tablet.
- Open the Gmail app and sign in if necessary.
- Tap the menu button, located in the upper left-hand corner and represented by three horizontal lines.
- When the drop-down menu appears, scroll down and select the Settings option.
- The Settings screen should now be displayed. Tap your Gmail address, located directly above the Add account button.
- Select Manage your Google Account.
- The Google Account interface should now be visible. Tap the Personal Info tab.
- Select the Password option.
- Type in your current Gmail password and tap Next.
- Enter your desired new password twice, once in the New password field, and again in the Confirm new password field.
- Tap Change Password to complete the process. If successful, your Gmail password should now be changed.
How to Change Gmail Password on iPhone Device
Follow the steps below to change your Gmail password on an iPhone or another iOS device.

- The Settings interface should now be displayed. Tap your Google email address, located near the top of the screen.
- Select the Manage your Google Account option, located in the Account section.
- On the Google Account screen, tap Sign-in & security.
- The Sign-in & security screen should now be visible. Select the Password option.
- Type your current Gmail password and tap the Sign in button.
- Enter your desired new password twice, once in the New password field, and again in the Confirm new password field.
- Tap Change Password to complete the process. If successful, your Gmail password should now be changed.
